Lois read all the posts and asked that I express her gratefulness. She wants to thank each of you who have taken an interest.

I learned today that their son Peter has stayed on out there thus far. Also that she is receiving physical , occupational and speech therapy at home. Nurses check her 2-3 x a week.

Wanted to both update and ask more prayer for Lois.--- On the positive side, she appears , in terms of email traffic, content and style, to have recovered nicely from the stroke. Not sure about speech as we do not talk by phone and there is a new problem.--- This negative is that she has cancer of the tongue. It has been very painful and the swelling has made it nearly impossible to keep it off her teeth. She finally has a surgery date 9/28, one week from today so am asking those of you who pray to especially remember her that day.--- As we have become aware, often in terms of our health at 74-75, one problem follows another. ---- Am thankful that each new day arrives , even when new challenges present themselves. GOD IS GOOD ! --- George T

Thanks for the update on Lois, George. I was a Hospice volunteer for a lady who had cancer of the mouth and had half her tongue removed and most of her salivary glands. It was very difficult. I will definitely keep Lois in my prayers and send her a card. Take Care!

Thank you, George, for the update on Lois.  When you first let us know of her and her husband's dire conditions, I sent her a card, and got a lovely note back.  It is truly uplifting to see our classmates, over 55 years after our graduation, continuing to reach out to each other.  Let's keep it up.

Thank you George for your update and information about Lois. With so much going on in this year of 2020, and our new year 5781, I pray that Yom Kipper will bring about some healing for her.
All I can do is ask God to look after her and bring her peace. Do not know what he has in store for her or how her story will unfold.
Please give her my sincerest hopes that she will overcome this difficulty. I sure will pray for that.

Update on Lois ---- All info is coming from her son John. Am attempting to summarize correctly. --- Malignant lesions removed from tongue. A couple malignant lymph nodes also removed. Surgeon went out further but no other malignant nodes were found. Standard protocol calls for 30 radiation treatments which should begin in about 3 1/2 weeks. ---- Lois is currently in rehab. Should end in about 1 1/2 weeks. Feeding tube was removed contingent on Lois eating properly which she promised to do. Very important as her weight was 88 lbs.

Cards and notes to her home in Rio Rancho, NM will be appreciated. We have been specifically asked not to contact her directly , not even email, at this time. I am honoring that request.

Marty is having a difficult time. His dementia leaves him apprehensive as Lois is not there.

There is plenty here for prayer if you are a praying person.           George T

Lois update, some may know this already.--- Lois is at home. Gets therapy several times a day. Was at 88 but now over 98 lbs. ---- No visitors but feel free to email or send cards and letters. Her email is britsmom7@gmail.com. Her address is in a previous update. ---- She tires easily so do not expect any lengthy reply. Her energy is being rightly spent on getting reasonably healthy again. ---- So if you are a spiritual person there is cause to Praise God and there are items to pray about too. ---- Just an aside....anytime I start to think my life is crappy, I just need to look around to see how blessed I really am.

New Lois update ----- More cancer discovered in lymph nodes. More surgery, probably Dec 22. NO CALLS, NO VISITS, but email , cards, notes appreciated. DO NOT EXPECT A REPLY. ---- Prayer for both Lois and Marty. Lois is the big constant in Marty's life. With his dementia every change in routine is very upsetting to him.

I wish you all happy Holy Days.

If this post from George doesn't resonate how blessed we are and that so many many people are suffering from lots of different things.    The COVID will be over, and then you can again see how lucky we are.

Hi all,

I have been away from this forum for a long time. Lost password, pain in the butt, didn't follow up, etc. I am so sad to hear about Lois. Will someone please send me her email?

No news to report from me - just staying put. Everyone please stay safe.

I just got lovely birthday messages from Eileen Tyrala and Larry Liss but I don't see them on this message board.  Not sure how to find those messages anywhere but I will use this forum to say thank you and announce that I am now a member of the 75 club as of today!  It's great to be alive!  Hope you are all managing OK during this crazy time.  ðŸ˜˜
